Souther Charm star Venita Aspen shows us her Charleston home

When she isn’t starring on Bravo’s “Southern Charm,” Venita Aspen (@venitaaspen) has been turning her historic Charleston home into a dreamy pad with color-coded rooms. In this episode of ITK: Do You Live Here?, the content creator invites us in for an exclusive tour to show us where she lives with her dog, Charles.

First, Venita shows us her kitchen, which she says did not look as nice when she first moved in as it does now. A fun and creative space, the kitchen has a banquet table, accent wallpaper and a sleek, retro-style fridge. Venita’s favorite part of the room is the sink and workspace, as she’s always dreamed of having a deep sink that lends itself to organizing flowers and keeping the room clean.

Venita found a very non-traditional but important use for what was originally meant to be her house’s dining room: A closet. She leads us into her “dining closet,” which features built-in clothing racks and chests of drawers, along with a dedicated shelf for her Barbie collection. “When I moved in, I automatically knew that this space was too small for me for anything else – too small for an office, too small for a dining room – and I started sketching out what a closet would look like,” she explains.

Next, Venita takes us into her bathroom. Decorated in a pink, monochromatic design, this room is one of Venita’s favorites.

The next room on the tour is the bedroom, which features both Venita’s bed and a dog bed for Charles – placed in a nonfunctional original fireplace. Set along one wall is a large, wooden, antique chest of drawers that Venita notes is one of her favorite pieces. The room is decorated with abstract artwork, sculptural vases and patterned throw pillows.

Venita says she spends most of her time in her living room. Accessible from the bedroom via two wooden pocket doors, the living room is a large space decorated with blue walls, a blue sectional couch and lots of blue accents, including a blue dog bed for Charles.

“When it came to designing the living room, this is where I actually started in the apartment,” Venita explains. “This is the first time I’ve ever designed an apartment from start to finish, and it was very overwhelming, so I decided to stick to one color when it came to design.”
